After taking a couple of months off for various reasons, Fun Classic Reads is back!
Thursday, January 23 at 8 p.m. ET, we’re bringing you classic horror—and comedy!
An abridged humorous Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson. We were going to do it in November in honor of his birthday, which was on November 30, 1850 (one of my favorite decades!), so here it is finally!
There are a couple of real-life people who are said to have inspired Stevenson’s novella: Deacon Brodie and Eugene Chantrelle. Different researchers have different ideas about which one it was. In both cases, the person was well-respected during the day and a menace at night.
*What the world needs right now is more light-hearted laughs—and more literature.*
Our live read of Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde will be on January 23, 2024 at 8 p.m. ET. I’m playing a bunch of different characters, including a parrot!
