The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton My rating: 4 of 5 stars *This book was supplied to me by AudiobookReviewer.com. This review was originally published on ABR’s website.* The Miniaturist is the first book ever to keep me guessing almost 100% of the time. I literally had no idea where it was going and absolutely had […]
The Yuletide Angel by Sandra Ardoin My rating: 5 of 5 stars Comforting books are not something I normally read, but this book sounded so good and so sweet that I had to read it. Victorian setting? Check. Low stress but still contains mystery? Check. Readable outside of the Christmas season? Check. And surprisingly enough, […]
Exciting news: I’m starting a new series on my YouTube channel called Writer’s Takeaway, and the first video is already up! In each episode, I’ll talk about what writers can learn from reading any particular book, fiction or nonfiction, that I have recently finished. The takeaway can be anything from writing style tips to dialogue technique to plot tightening, […]
I have a new endeavor! Just a mini endeavor, but I’m now doing micro-reviews of black and white films on my Pinterest page. Each pin includes the name of the film, year, main cast (usually two to three people), a “star” rating, and the reasons I liked and disliked it – all in something that will […]

Truant, will bring robot servants to run entire households, replacing maids, butlers, chefs, gardeners, and all other […]

Apparently it’s Amazon’s answer to Wattpad – in fact, it’s pretty much the same thing. Right now it’s in beta testing mode, and writers and readers […]

New Year’s resolutions are not my thing. I don’t think they’re most people’s thing. But this year, I’m determined to make some achievable goals and accomplish them one by one because they’re achievable. I’m not going to promise myself ridiculous things, things that seem out of reach from the start. I’m promising myself things that […]
