GEMS OF GRATITUDE Cover Reveal

Ta-da! Finally I can reveal to you the second book in the Gems of Sisterhood anthology series! Gems of Gratitude is another very diverse book, this time with the theme of gratitude, which can take so many forms and come about for so many reasons. It comes out November 14, but you can pre-order it now (see the links at the bottom of this post).

My short story “Intent” will be included, and it’s a bit different from my usual works. It focuses on an Amazonian tribe and one warrior’s crucial decision to either disobey and take a chance or do what she’s told and go to war. But maybe those aren’t the only two options… Find out this November!

From the Gems of Strength authors comes the second book in the Gems of Sisterhood series! The theme of this book is, of course, gratitude! Meet Detective Cara Solino, a young woman following in her father’s footsteps. Can she solve the case he was unable to?

Find out how Chloe’s mother discovers a way to keep her daughter’s dream alive under the worst possible circumstances. Read about young Lady Iona, a child of the Elven Forest, as she struggles to give her daughter a fighting chance in a harsh world.

Cheer on Sharliss as she finally takes control of her own life, and becomes a better person. Meet Julie, who gathers information on history, and Jody, an elderly dog whose time to cross the Rainbow Bridge is near. These stories and more are within these pages, just waiting for YOU!

Book Release: GEMS OF STRENGTH Anthology

Gems of Strength, the first book in the Gems of Sisterhood anthology series, has now been published! WOOHOO! Today is release day, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I’m going to sit down and binge read the rest of the stories in the book – there are 18 in total, all about women overcoming difficult, and sometimes traumatic obstacles.

My short story is called “Focal Point”, and it revolves around a woman who is slashed in the face on a city street, a crime on the rise in New York. The aftermath of such a vicious and traumatic attack is extremely difficult to deal with, and I did research on real victims of this crime so I could paint an accurate picture of their struggle.

What readers are saying:

“5-STARS” — San Francisco Book Review

“…be prepared to toss that suburban fairy tale away, grab on to the steering wheel, and hope that you get through this obstacle course with all your mental faculties… Eva Lesko Natiello shows tremendous talent and courage in her creation of a powerful dichotomy, reaching beyond boundaries.” — San Francisco Book Review

“The Memory Box is a literary rarity—a story of high imagination cast with characters who seem as authentic as they are complex. From the moment Caroline Thompson dares to Google her own name, the stakes and suspense develop, treating the reader to a “can’t put it down” mystery.”
—Sidney Offit, author of Memoir of a Bookie’s Son

“In her impressive first novel, The Memory Box, Eva Lesko Natiello tells the fascinating story of a woman whose memories piece together a self-portrait she doesn’t recognize—until those memories yield to the terrible secrets they conceal.”
—John Biguenet, author of The Torturer’s Apprentice and Oyster

The Memory Box is a Houston Writers Guild 2014 Manuscript award winner.

What would you do if you Googled yourself and uncovered something shocking?

In this page turner suspense, a group of privileged suburban moms amuse themselves by Googling everyone in town, digging up dirt to fuel thorny gossip. Caroline Thompson, devoted mother of two, sticks to the moral high ground and attempts to avoid these women. She’s relieved to hear her name appears only three times, citing her philanthropy. Despite being grateful that she has nothing to hide, a delayed pang of insecurity prods Caroline to Google her maiden name—which none of the others know.

The hits cascade like a tsunami. Caroline’s terrified by what she reads. An obituary for her sister, JD? That’s absurd. With every click, the revelations grow more alarming. They can’t be right. She’d know. Caroline is hurled into a state of paranoia—upending her blissful family life—desperate to prove these allegations false before someone discovers they’re true.

The disturbing underpinnings of The Memory Box expose a story of deceit, misconceptions, and an obsession for control. With its twists, taut pacing, and psychological tenor, Natiello’s page turning suspense cautions:
Be careful what you search for.
