Train Girl: A Short Story by Kristina Rienzi My rating: 5 of 5 stars Fast-paced with constant forward movement, Train Girl is a short story I finished very quickly. I couldn’t stop reading it! The author chose a way of telling it that classically means the reader has no idea which direction the story will […]

I consider New Year’s Day the day to recover from the year before and start the new year on a high and happy note. What will I be doing January 1? There will be coffee. I’m talking strong Starbucks venti black coffee. There will be chocolate. I’m talking no restrictions on the intake amount. There […]
No, I’m not referring to an app. Real-life notebooks! There are two things I heavily depend on as a writer: notebooks that reflect the essence of what I’m writing, and fun sticky notes or notepads. This Christmas I was so excited to get exactly those two things as gifts! The notebook on top […]
To those who celebrate Christmas, have a wonderful day with family, friends, or on your own!
Victorian Christmases are beautiful, full of tradition, and multi-faceted in celebration. In fact, many authors of both books and scripts would love to put a gorgeous Christmas scene into their book. I got my very first video review from fantastic horror author Rocky Rochford! My favorite suite of his works is the Don’t Turn Around trilogy, which can be found on Amazon as Wait and Bleed. Rocky also writes poetry, romance, and…well, just about everything! He’s quite a dark horse. Special thanks to Rocky, of course, […]
What defines a Christmas movie? In my opinion any movie that involves Christmas, even if loosely so. I don’t think a movie needs to revolve around it to count as a Christmas movie. That’s why I’ll be watching these movies in the countdown to Christmas. If you celebrate, what will you be watching? My Reputation (1946) Drama/Romance I […]
This year I wanted to read a multitude of holiday books, but my plans got derailed when my dog went in for major surgery. I haven’t had enough time to read more than one book at a time, and I can’t read it very fast either. I’d already started developing a list of holiday books […]
I’m proud and excited to be featured on The Scary Reviews today. I was interviewed by David Spell, a very well read indie reviewer and creator of the site, as part of his brilliant Spotlighting Women in Horror feature. It was fantastic talking to him about the music that inspired Anatomy of a Darkened Heart and other […]
